History of the Wisconsin Water Ski Federation

"During the early days of water skiing in Wisconsin there was a lot of animosity, born of jealousy, between ski clubs. They had difficulty communicating with each other because of their pride and jealously. Each club was kind of an entity unto its own. We thought the creation of a statewide organization would create a spirit of comradery and fellowship, which were built into the the by-laws of the Wisconsin Water Ski Federation."
Allen Bubolz (one of the founders of the WWSF)

The Wisconsin Water Ski Federation was formed in 1960 following the Joyce Jumping Tournament in Minocqua at the old Hazelhurst town hall.
