    Carter Boerman (2025)

The Tom Diehl Memorial Scholarship was established in 2025 by the Wisconsin Water Ski Federation to honor the legacy of Thomas M. Diehl, president and owner of Tommy Bartlett, Inc. For more than five decades, Tom was a driving force in Wisconsin tourism and economic development, helping transform Wisconsin Dells into the Midwest’s #1 family vacation destination.

A visionary leader, Tom helped establish Wisconsin’s first local room tax and played a key role in passing the Premier Resort Area Tax—initiatives that funded critical infrastructure, fueled year-round tourism, and earned Wisconsin Dells the title The Waterpark Capital of the World®. His leadership extended far beyond business, with decades of service on boards and committees across Wisconsin. His dedication earned him many honors, including the Wisconsin Governor’s Lifetime Achievement Award and induction into the Wisconsin Water Ski Federation Hall of Fame.

In keeping with his legacy, the Tom Diehl Memorial Scholarship recognizes WWSF members who are actively involved in water skiing and pursuing education and careers in hospitality, tourism, or business. Applicants must be entering at least their second year of post-high school education, with consideration also given to GPA, references, work experience, and letters of recommendation.

    Application Period: October 1, 2025 through February 1, 2026
